ENCOUNTERS – Tracing Democracy
Workshop in the Communication Design program at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Wiesbaden and an exhibition of the results as part of WDC 2026 (World Design Capital) at the WDC Campus in the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt.
Students from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and Arts present places of encounter as the foundation for democratic coexistence in their street photography.
Using their cameras, the students explored places where people meet and investigated spaces that foster successful social interaction. They sought out situations and stories that demonstrate social cohesion or a sense of community, as well as an appreciation for diversity and participation. Naturally, this also encompassed the possibilities for freedom of expression and political engagement.
