Normandy, France is a rather tranquil, one could say provincial region that today relies heavily on tourism. In contrast to the current tranquility, tourism marketing narratives focus on dramatic heroic stories such as those of Joan of Arc or the Allied liberators in 1945.
That’s why I chose an empty pedestal as a trigger object for you. Also, as a reply to or counterpoint to the false clunkers you gave me. This pedestal should be able to accommodate everything that you can capture about the identity, the canon of values of this region – romance and enthusiasm for nature, health and enjoyment, origin and authenticity, upliftment and spirituality…
The pedestal could be a green marble block like from the quarry on Tinos – or a hill in the landscape like the tower hill castle of Gisors.
