(“Heiße Quellen” literally translates as “HOT SPRINGS”, but as “Quelle” also means “source”, the title can and should be taken to mean “hot sources”, where “hot” implies “topical” and/or “controversial”.)

Sources of energy, sources of irritation, hotspots in Wiesbaden

For the first time in the history of the world, more people are living in cities than in the countryside. Rapid growth and dynamic changes are making cities more complex and confusing. Some even believe that planning and describing cities is now beyond the bounds of possibility. As ways of coping with this situation, we believe in proactive engagement with our “own” city, in dialogue and participation. And with this in mind, our workshop will explore the “sources” (“Quellen”) that generate the city’s energies:
Wiesbaden presents itself as a city with 26 bubbling thermal springs. But the living fabric of a city naturally consists of an incredible number of different forces and energies. From which sources does life in the city “spring forth”, in your view? Or, more specifically, which sources influence your life in this city?
What sources do you find here that make the city lovable and liveable?
What are the personal sources of strength that impact your life and society in general? Or, … which sources of strength for other people here do you know or are able to detect?
And where are possible sources of irritation?
Where can you find sources of creativity, sources of strength for regeneration and relaxation, sources of life for healthy social interaction?
What are the “hotspots” in both a positive and a negative sense?
